Traditional Ancient Ceremonies

A Sand Ceremony:

A sand ceremony during a naming service is symbolic. Using a glass container and different coloured sand, key individuals in the child’s life, parents, siblings, grandparents, family and friends are invited to pour their vial of sand into the glass, which represents family unity and your child’s place in the family.

A Wish Tree:

The wish tree can be artificial or real if the venue is outdoors. Family and friends are invited to write their good wishes, promises, words of wisdom and love to your child on a tag, that is hung on the wish tree. The little tags are collected at the end of the ceremony and given to you as a keepsake of love and best wishes for your child, a treasured memory of your naming ceremony.

A Candle Lighting:

Candle lighting is a popular tradition at a naming ceremony, as it symbolises the light, love and warmth your child brings into the world. Parents light their candle from the unity candle for their child, godparents, guide parents, family and friends can also be invited to light a candle.

Blowing Bubbles:

Blowing bubbles is a symbolic gesture of hope and well wishes for the future and is a fun and environmentally friendly alternative to releasing a balloon. Children love to make, chase, and catch bubbles, encouraging all of your guests to participate in this lovely symbolic activity.
