Traditional Ancient Ceremonies
You can make your special day memorable, by adding a traditional ancient ceremony:
Handfasting:
Handfasting is the joining of the happy couple’s hands, using material or ribbon and gently tying a knot, thus securing their bond to each other. Family and guests can be included in this symbolic act of ‘tying the knot’, bringing the two families together.

Unity Candle:
This ceremony involves the lighting of a unity candle by the happy couple, as a symbolic act of togetherness, representing the merging of two families. Lighting a candle accompanied by a photograph, can include into your service someone special who cannot be present in person. The main wedding party can also be included.

Oathing Stone:
At this ceremony the couple place in their hands a personalised stone, whilst saying their wedding vowels, as a symbol of ‘setting their oath to each other in stone’. Family and friends can be included, as small stones are given on arrival and the guests will be invited whist holding the stone, to make a special wish to the couple. This can be very moving as the bag of collected stones, full of love and good wishes is handed to the couple at the end of their service.

Sand Ceremony:
This ceremony uses a glass container and coloured vials of sand. Both couples are invited to pour their vial of sand into the glass, family and guests can also be invited to pour a vial of sand and as the rainbow of colours emerge, symbolising the unity of you as a couple and the joiningof your families, making a lovely keepsake of your special day.
